Stargazing Live at Keele Observatory

With the return of BBC2’s Stargazing Live, celebrate with Keele University Observatory!

On Wednesday 18, Thursday 19 and Friday 20 March the observatory opens its doors to the public every day 12-1pm at lunchtime and 8-11pm in the evening, to view celestial objects through its large telescopes and for tours and talks. The Stardome planetarium is open at the Sustainability Hub on Wednesday evening and Friday evening.

The observatory was founded in 1962 to host a 31cm refractor dating back to 1874. It has since acquired a 61cm reflector for research and a 15cm solar telescope.

On Friday morning, 8-11am, we will be watching the solar eclipse, which reaches its maximum (90%) around 9:30am. All events are free of charge, and parking is free in the evenings. See for more details.
